How booking with us works

Last updated Filone Inc.

Short stays — normally two or three nights — in resort accommodation we hold the right to occupy and let. Here is what actually happens, and where the money goes.

Note

There is no online checkout on this site yet, and no automated booking engine. Nothing here reserves accommodation by itself. Dates are arranged by talking to us, and a booking exists only once we have confirmed it in writing and payment has been taken. This page will be updated the day that changes.

What “direct with us” means

We hold the nights. When you book, you are reserving specific accommodation on specific dates that we hold the right to let — not a room drawn from a general pool. That is why there is usually only one of each, and why the price does not move.

The three steps

This is a genuine sequence, not three ways of saying the same thing.

01. You choose the nights, and the price is settled

You pay the total shown, to us. Those dates come off the site immediately — there is one unit on them, and leaving them listed while a booking is being completed would be dishonest.

The price shown is the full amount: the accommodation charge, every tax by jurisdiction, and any fee we charge, itemised before you are asked for card details. Nothing appears at the last step that was not visible at the first.

02. We place the reservation in your name

We reserve the accommodation with the property under your name, then send you the property’s own confirmation once it is issued.

That property confirmation number is the one the front desk needs. Ours is only for talking to us. If something looks wrong with either, say so early rather than at the desk.

Operator decision

[NEEDS OPERATOR DECISION: how long placing a reservation with the property normally takes, and the point at which a guest should chase it. The design drafted “usually a few days, call us at five”. That is a service promise somebody has to keep, so no timing is stated here until it is one.]

03. You check in as the guest

You arrive, show identification that matches the reservation name, and check in. The desk sees an ordinary guest reservation.

If anything does not match at the desk, contact us before you leave it. We can reach the property while you are standing there, which is far faster than sorting it out afterwards.

Telephone: [NEEDS OPERATOR INPUT: support phone]. Email: support@wayrali.com.

Operator decision

[NEEDS OPERATOR DECISION: the hours during which someone answers, and on which channel. Reachability at the front desk is the most load-bearing promise in this product — the design put it on six screens and three emails — and it has not been staffed. No hours are stated here until it is.]

Who handles what

Most of the confusion about stays like this comes from not knowing which side to call. So: this side.

We handleThe property handles
The price, the payment and the receiptWhich building and unit you are assigned

Whose stay it is

Every stay on this site today is one we hold ourselves. Nothing here is resold from a third-party feed.

If that ever changes, the stay will be labelled wherever it appears, it will not carry our direct mark, and it will sit below a divider rather than mixed in with ours — because who takes your money decides who you call when something goes wrong.

Operator decision

[NEEDS OPERATOR DECISION: whether third-party inventory is in scope at launch. It is not built, and the labelling described above has to exist before a single third-party stay is shown.]

What we will not do

You are being asked to send money to a company you have not heard of, for a stay months away. These are the shortcuts we have decided not to take.

  • No countdown pressure, no “three people are viewing this”, no invented scarcity. If a hold timer ever appears at checkout it will be a real one, and it will be the only clock on the site.
  • No struck-through prices and no fake discounts. The price is the price.
  • No taxes or fees appearing at the last step. Everything is itemised before you are asked for a card number.
  • No availability shown that does not exist. If it is on the site, it can be booked.
  • No implying a relationship with a resort or hotel brand that we do not have. We are independent, we name brands only to say where a stay is, and we say so on every page.

Questions people ask first

Am I buying anything besides a stay?

No. You are booking nights, nothing else. There is no membership, no points programme, no interest in any property, and nobody will pitch you one. There is no presentation to sit through.

Will the property treat me differently?

The reservation is in your name and the desk sees an ordinary guest reservation. You will not earn brand loyalty points on a booking made on our account, and the unit you are assigned is the property’s decision, made at check-in.

Operator decision

[NEEDS OPERATOR INPUT: confirm both points above with each property. They are plausible for this kind of reservation and neither has been verified — and a guest who was told they would earn points is a refund, not a misunderstanding.]

Why is so little available?

Because we are letting nights we hold ourselves rather than reselling from a pool. We list them as they open. A short honest list is the whole list.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel within 14 days of booking and you get everything back, unconditionally. After that it depends on how close to check-in you are, and the cancellation policy sets it out in full. If we or the property cancel, you are refunded in full.

Is this allowed?

Yes. Documentation of our right to let a set of dates has to be on file before those dates can be published; dates without it are not listed. We are independent of every resort brand named on this site, and we say so on every page rather than in a footnote.

Still want to talk to a person first?

Reasonable. Ask anything — we would rather answer a question than have you guess. Email support@wayrali.com.

[NEEDS OPERATOR DECISION: the support@wayrali.com mailbox does not exist yet, and no telephone line has been provisioned. This page invites contact through both, so both need to be real before it is published.]
